We are seeking a skilled and motivated Back-end Application Developer to join our team in Malta. In this role, you will be responsible for participating in the entire application life cycle, with a focus on coding and debugging. You will collaborate with other team members to establish objectives and design functional requirements, and work on optimizing applications for maximum performance and scalability. As a Back-end Application Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on various Java frameworks and utilize your knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL, RDBMS Databases, and NoSQL databases. Additionally, familiarity with Ruby, Python, Jenkins, microservices, and APIs will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the entire application life cycle, with a specific focus on coding and debugging.
• Build and conduct unit tests to ensure the quality of developed code.
• Develop reusable code and libraries for future use, promoting efficiency and maintainability.
• Clearly document solutions for all stakeholders, ensuring the transfer of knowledge.
• Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with other team members to establish objectives and design functional requirements.
• Analyze, design, and document new requirements, contributing to the overall development process.
• Perform effectively under pressure and possess the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately, with limited supervision.
• Take the lead on projects when necessary, showcasing leadership and project management skills.
Requirements:
• Possess a degree in computing or a similar recognized qualification.
• Show an interest in understanding how the payments industry operates and explore new industry trends.
• Have good knowledge of software development life-cycle processes.
• Experience with working on multiple Java frameworks or possess a comprehensive understanding of the different frameworks available.
• Have experience working with PL/SQL and SQL.
• Have experience working with RDBMS Databases (e.g., Oracle SQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Scylla).
• Knowledge in Ruby, Python, and Jenkins would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge in microservices and APIs would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrate a meticulous, methodical, and accurate approach to task completion.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and writing skills in English.
