Junior PHP Software Developer

Our client is seeking a motivated and talented Junior PHP Software Developer to join their IT Business Solutions team within the IT Department. As a Junior Software Developer, you will play an integral role in supporting and enhancing business applications, while also contributing to the design and development of new solutions and system integrations. Reporting directly to the Senior Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Business Units to gather and understand requirements, enabling you to design and develop efficient solutions.
• Administer and maintain existing systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Design and develop software solutions following industry best practices.
• Conduct thorough testing of software programs, identifying and correcting defects to meet specified requirements and standards.
• Support business users during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, ensuring proper testing and validation.
• Develop and implement integration software to connect existing and new solutions.
• Provide training to business users, promoting knowledge sharing and increasing operational efficiency.
• Create and maintain procedural and technical documentation.
• Take ownership of assigned projects, driving them from start to completion with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
• Assist the team in day-to-day activities, ensuring stability and efficiency of the infrastructure and platforms.

Requirements:

• Diploma in IT/Computer Studies or equivalent qualification.
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies.
• Proficiency in PHP, Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, IIS, and related technologies.
• Experience in both front-end (user interface) and back-end design.
• Familiarity with Microsoft platforms and products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ambitious, positive attitude, eager to learn, and a strong team player.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a multi-site organization is preferred.
• Willingness to be on-call and travel to off-site locations when required.
